National Siblings Day – Childhood Photo

“Happy #nationalsiblingsday to this guy @evan.appleby. Super glad you’re my bro because you’re great with computers 🙂 JK. Love u a billion times over.”

Shiri captioned a cute childhood photo with her brother on Instagram.

Both are dressed up wearing black glasses with a fake nose and fuzzy eyebrows and mustache.

Honoring the relationships of siblings, “National Siblings Day” or just “Siblings Day” is a holiday recognized annually in some parts of the United States on April 10th.

Shiri’s new Lifetime show “UnREAL” will premiere on June 1st, 2015. Visit the official website for the series, www.mylifetime.com/shows/unreal, and follow the social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook for more information on “UnREAL”.

[…] This provocative drama gives a fictitious behind-the-scenes glimpse into the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program.

Set against the backdrop of the hit dating competition show “Everlasting,” “UnREAL” is led by flawed heroine Rachel Goldberg (Appleby), a young producer whose sole job is to manipulate her relationships with, and among, the contestants to get the vital dramatic and outrageous footage that the program’s dispassionate executive producer, Quinn King (Zimmer), demands. What ensues is an eye-opening look at what happens in the outrageous world of unscripted television, where being a contestant can be vicious and being a producer a whole other reality. […]

Shiri Appleby Takes on Ice Bucket Challenge

Shiri Appleby takes part in the charity stunt to raise awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

Unless you spent the last several weeks on a desert island, you have most probably heard about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. #icebucketchallenge

With numerous celebrities, entrepreneurs, and talk show hosts ranging from Bill Gates, Oprah, and Mark Zuckerberg to Justin Timberlake, Tom Cruise, and Lady Gaga having participated, the campaign has quickly turned into a social media phenomenon.

The Ice Bucket Challenge has been an extraordinary success. According to a press release on ASLA.org, the national ALS Association has so far received $53.3. million in donations compared to $2.2 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 21).

Shiri accepted the challenge from former „Army Wives” star Sally Pressman. She nominated Sarah Hendler, Ashlee Margolis, and her Un-Real co-star Constance Zimmer.

Her video has been added below:

Make a difference!

Let’s not forget the cause behind the Ice Bucket Challenge. The Ice Bucket Challenge is meant to raise money for the national ALS Association, which raises awareness and promote research for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, which affects nerve cells in the brain and spine. As the cells die, the victim loses motor functions, leading to paralysis while the mind is still intact.

You don’t necessarily have to dump a bucket of water over your head to make a difference. If you want to contribute to a good cause, whether to the ALS Association or to some other charity of your choice, just make a donation. And if it’s an organization you really believe in, feel free to politely encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Your turn. Donate.
