We caught up with the beautiful, talented Shiri Appleby.

Taking on Tinseltown

The Los Angeles native was a star on the hit television Roswell and has just appeared in the April 2006 releases of I'm Reed Fish and When do we eat?, in which she plays a hilarious sex surrogate in a My Big Fat Greek Wedding-type of Jewish family during Passover. Her new movie, What Love is, is soon to be released with Shiri working alongside Cuba Gooding Jr. and Anne Heche.

Where do you like to shop?
Milk (in West Hollywood, Calif.). They have a lot different designers, so it's not a replica-type store. I also like Bergdorf, H&M and Neiman Marcus, which has everything. My favourite shopping cities are Tokyo and New York.

What is your latest fashion buy and why do you adore it?
I just bought my first pair of Manolo Blahnik's at Neiman Marcus! They really do make me feel sexy. It's like Carrie Bradshaw in my closet. [Okay, Shiri, we definitely won't argue with you there!]

What are you most likely to keep for awhile?
I keep everything until I have to throw it away. Especially my shoes!

Are there any celebrities you've gathered fashion inspiration from?
You can gather it from anyone. That's why I love New York City because you can just look at the people on the street. I like Kirsten Dunst because she seems like she's got her own personality. I also like Natalie Portman-she's sophisticated and fun.

What's your skincare regime?
I wash and moisturize. I'm huge on face masks- I use Kiehl's Rare Earth Face Masques. It pulls out everything and makes my skin feel so fresh.

Tell us about What Love Is and I'm Reed Fish…
What Love Is is a movie everyone can relate to. It deals with questions we all have about love. I'm Reed Fish is a drama that has a really great cast-Alexis Bledel, Schuyler Fisk and D.J. Qualls are in it. It's a movie within a movie.

What advice would you give to aspiring actors?
Keep a good head on your shoulders and know why you're doing it. I've been doing it since I was little and I love it. It's about having fun: I mean it's not brain surgery!
