Shiri Appleby picked up the perfect dress for her red carpet appearance at the 75th annual Peabody Awards. The actress cut a striking figure in a lace dress as she arrived to accept an award on behalf of her show “UnREAL”.
“UnREAL” is the winner of a 2016 Peabody Award. The Peabody Awards are is bestowed by the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. The ceremony took place at Cipriani Wall Street on Saturday evening (May 21) in New York City.
Shiri was joined at the event by series creator Marti Noxen, co-creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro and her co-stars Constance Zimmer, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, as well as B.J. Britt.
“UnREAL” returns to Lifetime on June 6.

The initial lineup for the 2016 Vulture Festival was announced on Monday, April 18th and among its events is a conversation with Lifetime’s UnREAL co-creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro. The cast members Shiri Appleby, Constance Zimmer, B.J. Britt, Craig Bierko, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Josh Kelly and Executive Producer Carol Barbee are also in attandence.

UnREAL’s episode 6 of the 2nd season is titled “Casualty” and will be directed by Shiri Appleby. She announced the great news with a photo of the script on Instagram and wrote “It’s happening!! I’m directing my first episode of television. Prep officially starts Monday #dreamscomingtrue #thankyoulifetime”

Shiri received her first director credit, when she worked on the webseries “Dating Rules For My Future Self” (Season 2 Episode 6, The Last Shrimp) in 2012 which she also produced. Later she reunited with her “Roswell” co-star Colin Hanks and directed a sketch for Yahoo’s weekly comedy series “Sketchy”. The sketch is titled “Got the Check?” and was written by Alison Becker and Brandon Johnson.
Now, the cameras are rolling with Shiri Appleby starring as Rachel as well as sitting on the director’s chair.
