Shiri Appleby – Hammer Museum K.A.M.P. 2017

On Sunday, May 21, 2017, Shiri Appleby and her family attended the Hammer Museum K.A.M.P. in Los Angeles, California.

The Hammer welcomed hundreds of kids and their families for their eight annual fundraising K.A.M.P. (Kids’ Art Museum Project), where renowned L.A. artists led inventive, hands-on workshops in the carefree atmosphere of the museum’s courtyard. Attendees were treated to a lunch by Jon & Vinny’s, an Italian restaurant co-owned by Shiri’s husband, Jon Shook, and his partner Vinny Dotolo.

New ‘Funny or Die’ Sketch Directed by Shiri Appleby

Shiri Appleby expanded her career with another directing opportunity. The UnREAL star directed a brand new Funny or Die sketch, starring Tyler Posey. The humorous short is a ‘coming of age’ parody: “Being the new kid in school was hard for Jason (Tyler Posey), but then he met… them.

Shiri Appleby Weighs In On The Lack Of Female Directors

Yesterday, UnREAL star Shiri Appleby attended the “Women in Global Entertainment Power Lunch” in Cannes, France. During the panel, Shiri discussed her role in UnREAL, what female empowerment means today, and that there has been a change in the TV business.

Via Hollywood Reporter,

“Appleby added that there has been a big shift during the 15 years she has been in the TV business, pointing out that on Roswell, which she starred in from 1999-2002, there was one female director in 65* episodes. During the 10-episode first season of Lifetime’s UnREAL four episodes were directed by women.”
