When asked about the The CW’s plans to bring a new version of “Roswell” back on TV, Shiri Appleby said in February that she can’t wait for them to call her to direct an episode. Now she confirmed that she will sit in the director’s chair for one episode of The CW’s re-imagining.
Shiri replied to a fan on Twitter and revealed the news when she told him what’s up for her next. She said: “I’m going to direct an episode of Roswell in October and on the hunt for the next great role! Thanks for the support! 👽”.

“Roswell, New Mexico” is a re-imagining based on the “Roswell High” books by Melinda Metz and Laura J. Burns. Writer and executive producer Carina Adly MacKenzie is the showrunner of this new show which will debut on the network during the 2018-2019 mid-season. “Roswell, NM” is not a reboot of the TV series by Jason Katims. This particular project is a re-imagining with a different storyboard picking up on ‘Roswell High’‘s source material. The original actors are not involved in this project. The CW show will add immigration as a main theme in the alien drama.
Shiri surely can’t wait to direct again. On #femalefilmmakerfriday in July she shared a picture with the capture: “My happy place! Can’t wait to get behind the camera and direct again!! 🎥” We can’t wait to see the episode Shiri directed.
