UnREAL fans will have to wait a little longer to watch the new season, starring Shiri Appleby as Rachel Goldberg.
Lifetime’s critically acclaimed drama was expected to return this summer, but the third season will not premiere until early 2018. On Sunday, Shiri Appleby’s co-star Constance Zimmer posted a photo on Twitter along with the caption “Here’s to the fans…Hang in there for #season3 @UnRealLifetime AIRING in the FIRST part of 2018!!” The delayed premiere date was confirmed by Lifetime.

No explicit reason was given for the delay. According to Variety, this could be due to some changes behind the scenes:
“For Season 3, “UnReal” brought on a new showrunner, Stacy Rukeyser. The showrunner shuffle came after the series had a rocky second season, according to many critics, following a very successful freshman season, which became a critical darling right off the bat.“
Sadly, we will have to wait until early 2018 for more epic Rachel Goldberg moments, but we are sure it means another great season of our favorite ‘reality TV’ drama.
